Description

Instructor: J. Pittman McGehee

This course explores the contemporary relevance of Jung's statement that "only the symbolic life can express the need of the soul."  McGehee speculates on what the symbolic life might look like for us 21st century pedestrians - that is, for those of us who are seeking meaning, but do not have models or schools to teach us how to live the symbolic life.  The class examines ritual process, spriritual process, and symbolism, both collective and individual, and tries to discern the difference between symbol and superstition.

4 classes, instant access by MP3 download, recorded in the spring of 2009.
