Description
Instructor: J. Pittman McGehee
How can we understand evil? Though we will not "solve" the problem of evil in this class, we do look at Jung's psychological understanding of it, along with traditional Christian perspectives. Jung challenges us to differentiate evil from "the dark side of God," "the dark side of the Self," and the personal shadow, distinctions that are difficult but necessary to make. The life crises that the ego sometimes understands as "evil" may in fact present valuable opportunities for change and growth.
