Facing the World With Soul
How does poetry enliven the resonance between consciousness and the soul of the world? Poetic images do not duplicate reality; they reverberate in our consciousness and lead us to new creativity. They enliven the routines of daily life and help us to re-awaken to the wonder, awe and mystery of things. This course examines the intersection between Jungian psychology and poetry, and the power of metaphor, image, story and dream. It explores examples of archetypes and meaning in poetic imagination, including a new book of poems by J. Pittman McGehee.
