Instructor: J. Pittman McGehee

Explore Joseph Campbell's classic work The Hero with a Thousand Faces.  Campbell referred to the story of the hero as a "mono-myth," meaning that this archetypal story is found in all cultures in some form.  Each of us lives the three phases of this story - departure, initiation, and return - in our own unique way.  This class looks at classic myths such as the Odyssey and Wizard of Oz to see how we each are in the story and the Hero's Journey is in each of us.

Recommended reading for the class:  The Hero with a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell.
