Explore the psychology of the professional caregiver, and begin to uncover the ethical implications of our woundedness, in this special workshop for professional caregivers.
As Jung once noted, only the "wounded healer" can heal. The highest percentage of people in the caregiving professions come from troubled backgrounds and seek their own healing through the choice of profession. Only one who has suffered, and come to an enlarged consciousness through that suffering, can relate to others with a more assimilated consciousness and promote healing in others. In this workshop, we identify the hidden psychology of the professional caregiver, and its often hidden costs. We also explore the ethical dimensions of an interactive space where both parties are wounded and partake of a common human condition.
