Description

Jung observed that when we accept the unavoidable conflicts in our lives – our fates – they become "offered up to the unconscious as the source of life, which produces harmony out of disharmony." Join Jungian analyst, Jennifer Embry, and musical alchemist, Lauren Cook, for this immersive online exploration of sound from the perspectives of Jungian psychology and somatic experience. Friday evening's introductory lecture will end with a sound bath, in which you can lie comfortably in your own home and let the sound of alchemical bowls relax and carry your awareness to new and perhaps unexpected places.

This program is being offered ONLINE only. Recordings will be distributed to registrants only, and are not available for individual purchase.

All times are CT. Please contact onlinelearning@junghouston.org with any questions.

Please register early. Programs with four or fewer participants are subject to cancellation, 48 hours prior to their start.

Jennifer Embry (MA, Jungian analyst) is a Zurich-trained Jungian analyst in private practice in Houston, Texas, and is intrigued by the intersecting spaces of the body and the psyche – that space occupied by dreams, astrology, film, theater, nature, music, and sound. Jennifer delights in making room for the combination of play, inquiry, and knowing in order to manifest our truest desires, and is a lifelong student of this alchemical experiment we call being human on this planet.

Lauren Cook is a musical alchemist who uses song as a vehicle to stimulate neuroplastic change within herself and those she works with or performs for.  She is passionate about studying the effects of sound, movement, and word, using these tools to harness the power of her voice and create positive change for the listener.
