Explore the suffering and shame that attend financial struggles, as well as strategies to heal, and to claim one's rightful place in the financial community.

Description

Despite all the "how to get out of debt" hype, many people remain stuck. Popular narratives of the "weakness" or "impulsivity" leading to debt are hardly useful tools for those affected. A function of upbringing and early learning experiences, financial ease often becomes buried in the shadow, without permission to become conscious energy. In this workshop, we will discuss the origins of these early wounds – which are not the same for everyone. We will look at the suffering and shame that attend financial struggles, as well as strategies to heal, and to claim one's rightful place in the financial community. We will also discuss financial racism and how we might explore what can be done to challenge inequity.
