Summary

Mary Ellen O'Hare Lavin | Tuesday, Aug 11 | 12 - 1p CT | Consider the ancient myth of Baucis and Philemon, the experiences of a loving and healthy mature relationship, and what this can mean in our lives and the lives of patients/clients.

Description

To stay current with modern life expectancy, we need new archetypal stories, both for our own lives, and to help us in our work with aging persons in love. The stories of youthful love, like Romeo and Juliet and Tristan and Iseult, are not always appropriate for today's aging population.

Mary Ellen O'Hare-Lavin earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. She has lectured in the United States and internationally on addiction, intimacy, corporate relationships using Jung's theory of Typology, alchemy, and women's spirituality. Dr. O'Hare-Lavin is a retired professor of psychology at Oakton College in DesPlaines, Illinois and has a clinical practice in Wilmette, Illinois.
