Summary

Renata Ritchey | Four Wednesdays, Jun 17 - Jul 8 | 3 - 5p CT | 12 In-person attendees max | Experience yoga and breathwork as tools for whole-body health, integrating traditional yogic wisdom with modern science.

Description

This workshop explores how asana and pranayama support physiological regulation, psychological resilience, and key body systems—including the nervous, respiratory, digestive, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, and skeletal systems. Emphasis is placed on the breath as a bridge between body and mind, supporting emotional regulation, mental clarity, and trauma release.

The session focuses on Himalayan Hatha Yoga, developed by Yogi Ashokananda, emphasizing accessible sequencing, breath awareness, and energetic alignment. Techniques include Ujjayi and Kumbhaka breathing, bandhas, mudras, and focused attention (drishti). Blending theory with guided practice, the session provides a strong foundation for those beginning or considering yoga teacher training. No prior experience is required. Some mats will be available for those who do not have their own to bring.

This summer 2026 session provides 8 continuing education hours for yoga teachers and serves as a prerequisite for additional connected courses within the Yogiville Gurukul learning pathway. The instructor will be processing documentation for these hours, not The Jung Center or its staff.
