Description

This 6-week experiential course explores ceremonial cacao as a supportive companion for deep personal work, ritual practice, and symbolic insight. Blending Jungian psychology and somatics, we will work with cacao to cultivate emotional presence, integrity, and inner resolve. Each week includes guided practices such as ritual, dreamwork, active imagination, and reflective inquiry. We begin by exploring the cultural and ceremonial history of cacao and the ethics of working with sacred plants. Participants are invited to prepare cacao at home (optional and available through Michelle) as part of weekly sessions. This course is open to therapists, healers, and seekers interested in engaging the body, psyche, and symbolic life in meaningful, grounded ways. No prior experience with cacao is required.

Michelle Kucera-Jewell, Ph.D. candidate at Pacifica Graduate Institute, combines nearly 30 years of experience in wilderness therapy, global leadership, and Indigenous healing practices with advanced training in depth psychology. She bridges somatic, symbolic, and earth-honoring traditions to support transformative healing through the body. Michelle was initiated to serve cacao by her Indigenous Mayan teachers and integrates this sacred medicine into her work with integrity, cultural humility, and deep listening.
