Summary
Description

Inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh’s teaching that we all hold the capacity for love and compassion, this three-hour workshop invites participants to gently awaken the heart. In times of fear or stress, our hearts can close, keeping us stuck in survival mode. Through mindfulness meditation, writing, drawing, and reflection, participants will learn to reconnect with openness, kindness, and presence. Integrating these mind-body practices into daily life supports nervous system balance, emotional healing, and greater wellbeing. Guided by Dr. Manizeh Mirza-Gruber, the session cultivates compassion, faith, and self-love.
Dr. Manizeh Mirza-Gruber is a board-certified psychiatrist, Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, Yoga Teacher, and Mind-Body Medicine Facilitator. She is the founder and CEO of Mindful in Practice, offering holistic psychiatric care and mindfulness-based education. Dedicated to integrating heart, mind, body, and spirit, she has led Mind-Body Skills groups since 2018 to support healing after crises. Dr. Mirza-Gruber also facilitates mindfulness classes and mentoring, including her free weekly Thankful Tuesdays meditations. Her 2024 children’s book, Mama, I Will Send You a Purple Flower, donates all proceeds to animal welfare.
