There is an increasing amount of research about how the creative process is beneficial to our wellness. Through art making, we have the opportunity to find our flow state and practice mindfulness. We also gain insight through pre-verbal and unconscious imagery, and discovering our own symbols that appear in our art. We naturally process our world in this intuitive way, and rediscover our creativity through this Wellness Through Art workshop. No art experience is necessary.
Helen Spaw, MPS offers wellness through art circles, individual sessions, workshops, programs, and events online and in-person. She has a wide range of experience as a therapist, healing art circle facilitator, and art instructor for all ages and abilities. She holds a master’s degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an Art minor and focus in Art Therapy from the College of Santa Fe.
