From Spirit to Form: Gently Guided Movement and Dance (In-Person)
Admission
- $50.00
Summary
Description

Engage in this Dancing from the Deep Heart method, a gently facilitated movement experience that is designed to invite you to settle in and move at your own pace, on your own creative, healing path. Utilizing deeply embodied exploration, luscious music, luxurious stretches, and slow movement conjoined with breath, we naturally open into personal flow, dance exploration, and rest. In companionship with others, each also in their own process. The practice draws on Dancemeditation,™ Yoga, Sufi spiritual healing, the infinite vibrations, undulations, and circular shapes of bellydance, as well as spatial and sculptural possibilities of other dance forms. Each session is infused with one or more of the Divine Names from the Sufi tradition.
This particular event will be an invitation to get to know our own deeper dreaming, whether for ourselves and our own lives, or for the larger community of life all around us. We will connect with the imaginal realm and the inspiration from which it is sourced. And play with uniting that dreaming with physical reality through somatic experience: movement, breath, creative expression. There will be plenty of opportunity to dance!
Karuna Haber grew up in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, child of a scientist and an artist, and she is deeply grateful for the beauty of nature that became her childhood refuge. In spite of that magical connection, she became obsessed with classical ballet, leaving home at 13 for professional track ballet school. Immersion in the dance world brought injury of both body and spirit, turning her into a healer and spiritually sourced movement artist. Karuna Haber is a dancer with a background in ballet, modern and post-modern dance, and Middle Eastern dance as approached from a from a mystical, alchemical perspective. She has been a Yoga teacher, Dancemeditation™ instructor, Sufi spiritual healer and master teacher of the Shadhuli Sufi lineage, and a bodyworker with many years of hands-on experience with bodies and souls of all ages and temperaments. She never tires of seeing the beauty and joy that opens for each person - in their own way and their own timing, as body and spirit weave and dance together once again.
