Join Jungian analyst Michael Escamilla in this exploration of the first section of C.G. Jung's book, Liber Novus. Known as the "Red Book," the Liber Novus was Jung's own in-depth immersion into his unconscious. Using a technique we now call Active Imagination, Jung undertook dialogues with inner figures, and created artistic renderings of these experiences. Dr. Escamilla will incorporate an understanding of Jung's life and the times he lived in, and how these personal and collective elements interacted with his disorienting, frightening, and transformational experiences with the archetypes – especially those of the Anima, the Hero, the Wise Man, and the Trickster.
Michael Escamilla (MD, Jungian analyst) has over 20 years experience treating patients with mental health challenges and has an extensive history of research publications. He is the author of the book Bleuler, Jung and the Creation of the Schizophrenias. He holds positions as adjunct professor at Rutgers University Department of Psychiatry and is the Frank McMillan Jr. Scholar at the Jung Center of Houston.

*The Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (TBHEC) has stopped pre-certifying ANY Continuing Education or Professional Development for mental health providers. The Jung Center cannot guarantee that the programs we provide will qualify for continuing education or Professional Development, nor can any other agency. The Jung Center uses high educational standards when selecting to designate events as "potentially appropriate for CEs", and in evaluating the outcomes of our educational services, and we believe them to meet the requirements of state licensing bodies.
