Collaging the Feminine (In-Person)
Admission
- $90.00
Summary
Description
We will explore the social constructions of the female body, understand feminity through creating an dimage and think critically about body image and concept. We will engage in an exercise based on Niki de Saint Phalle’s “Nana” Sculpture. Her sculptures challenged the idea that women should not take up space. Her sculptures were often 9 feet in height and featured beautiful and challenging designs on the body. The student will draw a body and express ideas of body image, feminism, and/or femininity through collage. Materials for this class are included in the price and will be provided by the instructor.
