Move consciously and joyfully through everyday actions as a result of understanding and respecting the postures your body inherently knows.

Description

Are you living your life constantly resisting various daily pressures? Do you experience headaches due to bad weather, trouble sleeping from work stress, or always feeling low on energy? By knowing the truly effortless posture that puts no strain on your body, you can use your strength without overexerting, increase your endurance, and gain control over your mind and body.
In this workshop, you will learn what postures your body inherently knows through proprioception, engaging both your mind and body. Let's move consciously and joyfully through everyday actions like sitting in a chair, standing, and walking, as well as simple exercises.

Masumi Kishimoto, looking to avoid surgery after sustaining an injury from dancing, Masumi found the Alexander Technique method. She decided to teach the method to better help people who are struggling physically because of their injuries. Masumi encourages her students to understand that the mind and body are connected and believes that the Alexander Technique is a practical way to build that awareness. She began collaborating with dance-theater company Racoco Productions in 2012.
