Learn mindful food preparation and consumption that calm the mind, improve digestion, and help us cultivate reverence in our relationship with food.

Description

According to Ayurveda, cooking with awareness and love not only nourishes the body but also uplifts the mind and spirit, promoting greater health with each bite. Conscious cooking considers how the cooking methods and ingredients affect digestion, promoting foods that are easy to digest and nourishing to the body. Our mental state while cooking influences the food’s energy. Loving intention infuses the meal with beneficial qualities, enhancing its nourishing effects.

Karuna transforms our classroom into an Ayurvedic kitchen, rich with delightful sights, sounds, aromas, and flavors that engage all the senses. Discover the art of cooking with mindfulness and intention as you learn how to prepare delicious, nourishing dishes rooted in ancient Ayurvedic principles.

Karuna Diedericks is an Ayurvedic practitioner and chef, graduate of the California College of Ayurveda (2007). She has been a practicing consultant in Houston since moving here in 2008, and works with individuals to fine-tune diet and lifestyle habits that bring about changes in overall health and well-being. Drawing from three decades of chef experience, Karuna teaches how to cook with healing herbs and spices to create appetizing meals that balance and heal the body.
