Unprepared for the afternoon of life? Curious about what living as an elder will be like? There is no roadmap or instruction manual and It’s is not just about the money. Emerging Elders, a recent term, posits that early contemplation of aging reveals new opportunities, challenges and experiences to enjoy optimal mind, body spiritual health. Generational differences accentuate the desire to claim early in life, the health and emotional well-being often sacrificed in the demanding work and family life.
Sean Fitzpatrick, PhD, Executive Director of The Jung Center of Houston, recently shared his observations of aging: The Rules of the Morning Don’t Work Anymore, as an introduction to Emerging Elders. Sean is awakening as an Emerging Elder. Wow! How did this happen?
Beth Quill, Member of the Community for Conscious Aging, Steering Committee, interviews Sean as he shares his curiosity, reluctance, anxiety, humor and perspective on the early exploration of the aging journey.
