Discover how, despite its relative youth, the influence of the Sikh faith stretches widely throughout India and into the English-speaking world.
Description
Sikhism is one of the newest world religions, being only just over 500 years old. Despite its relative youth, however, its influence stretches widely throughout India and into the English-speaking world mainly due to specific social, cultural and political factors. Houston, for example, has been home to a thriving Sikh community for many decades now. Who are the Sikhs and what do they believe? What is this religion about? And how did it spread so rapidly? In this short session, we will discuss all these questions and more as we come to a fuller understanding of this amazing religion and its adherents.
