Meet ample images with which we can think in different ways about how we make choices.
Description
Mahjong is a game from the far East played with ceramic or plastic tiles, now popular all around the world. Like chess, it not only requires the ability to think ahead, but to decide on the next best move in the present moment. The I Ching (or ‘Book of Changes’) is a vast repository of countless generations of psychological insight and social and political philosophy. It is also an ancient form of divination or prediction, and a respected method of making difficult decisions in uncertain situations. When we view our lives as a journey whose twists and turns are identical to the decisions we make, Mahjong and the I Ching become ample images in which we can think in different ways about how we make choices. Join C.C. Lee for an introduction to these incredible heirlooms of Chinese culture, and explore their implications for decision-making in all aspects of life.
C.C. Lee is a Feng Shui master with over forty years of experience in the practice, and one of Houston’s most well-known and respected architects. He has been teaching Feng Shui at Rice University since 1999 and continues to teach at many other universities around the world.
