Revisit the Garden of Eden and re-read this biblical narrative in a richly symbolic way.

Description

The biblical story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden is foundational to Western culture and has widely influenced our psychology and spirituality, whether we realize it or not. In this seminar, we will take on this fascinating story in depth and in discussion, revisiting the Garden of Eden and re-reading its narrative in a richly symbolic way. Naamleela Free Jones will offer a series of esoteric reflections and alternate perspectives from Gnosticism, depth psychology, and Indian yogic philosophy. Together they show how an esoteric perspective on the study of religion can free us to rewrite our own myths and transform our intimate understandings of the very heart of Western culture.
