Summary

Anne Lamott
Tuesday, February 27

Join us as Anne Lamott converts serious subjects into pure enchantment.

Description

Anne Lamott writes and speaks about subjects beginning with capital letters – Alcoholism, Motherhood, Jesus – and converts them into enchantment. She writes about loss – loss of loved ones and loss of personal control – with honesty, compassion, and a pureness of voice. She writes with grace and engaging compassion about what most of us don’t like to think about. Anne does not sugar-coat sadness, frustration, or disappointment, but she does communicate hope, lifting, comforting, and inspiring us, all while keeping us laughing. Anne is the author of seven novels and several bestselling books of nonfiction. She has been honored with a Guggenheim Fellowship, is the subject of a documentary by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Freida Mock, and has been inducted into the California Hall of Fame.
