Summary
Description
In this lecture, artist Laura Spector presents her painting series Personal Stories, a body of work rooted in intimate experiences, private symbolism, and reimagined narratives. Each painting begins with a word or phrase drawn from personal reflection, which she interprets through staged reference photos and layered compositions. Blending theatrical imagery with emotional depth, the series explores how we reconstruct meaning from our own histories. This talk offers a behind-the-scenes look at how Spector transforms internal language into visual storytelling.
