Description

This 5-week book study explores the Jungian take on the developmental tasks of midlife and beyond. As we read Finding Meaning in the Second Half of Life (How to Finally, Really Grow Up) by James Hollis, we will be introduced to these ideas and guided through questions like: "Whose life have you been living?" "Why does so much seem a disappointment, a betrayal, a bankruptcy of expectations?" "Why is the life you are living too small for the soul's desire?" "Why is now the time, if ever it is to happen, for you to answer the summons of the soul, the invitation to the second, larger life?" Join us to discuss these questions and more, as we analyze Hollis's ideas about what it might mean to "Finally, Really Grow Up."

Hadley McIntosh has been a teacher and a lawyer, and is now a professional organizer in Houston. She discovered Jungian psychology during some midlife shifts, and has been fascinated by its wonder and its practical application ever since. Her work at Hadley McIntosh Organizing focuses on downsizing and decluttering, and on helping people with the psychology of organization and of our relationship to our possessions.
