Description
Create your own cloth with an open-weave fabric and super-fine merino wool fibers. Felting colorful wool fibers into the fabric creates a lightweight and beautifully textured “nuno felt”. It’s magical, hands-on fun! All materials will be provided, and no special skills are required.
Learning Objectives for Felting a New Story
- Using a form of creative expression to develop and refine a self narrative.
- Play with color and fiber.
- Use an abstract approach to create a narrative.
- Explore the process of "nuno felt" - felting wool fibers into a loosely woven fabric.
A fiber artist for more than 30 years, Gika Rector combines creativity, an education in psychology, and her role as a personal coach and Feldenkrais Practitioner to facilitate transformation in individuals and organizations. Once described as “the quietest storm that ever blew through town,” Gika is passionate about inviting people to come out and play—to be who they were meant to be and do what they were meant to do.
