Description

We all are aging, and can also be prey to injuries, chronic conditions, or other limitations. How do we respond skillfully to such challenges? We will go over many of the most successful strategies for reclaiming your life even in the face of bodily problems.


Drew Leder, M.D., Ph.D. is a professor of Western and Eastern Philosophy at Loyola University Maryland. He is the author of some seven books, the latest being The Healing Body: Creative Responses to Illness, Aging, and Affliction (Northwestern University, 2024). He has often worked at the intersection of philosophy and medicine exploring the existential dimensions of illness and healing. His work has been covered and featured in places like the Washington Post and New York Times, and he has given dozens of workshops around the country and world. His many books and dozens of articles have focused on topics as diverse as aging; the body-mind relationship; incarceration and prison education; and cross-cultural spiritual lessons which enhance everyday life.
